Author Biography
Lee, Elaine (Author)
Elaine Lee is an attorney practicing in the San Francisco Bay area. She is also a program director for the San Francisco Foundation, a $500 million-dollar community fund that disburses grants to a wide array of non-profit organizations. Prior to joining the foundation in 1993, she was the executive director of a family law center for 10 years. She has also taught law school and worked as an arbitrator. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University and the University of Denver School of Law.

Lee, an avid swimmer, bibliophile, dancer, skier, stargazer, whitewater rafter, sailor, and cyclist, traveled solo around the world over a two-year period several years ago and continues to travel regularly. She has visited more than 33 countries, and has written a number of specialized travel guides.

One of her books is Go Girl! - A Travel Guide for the African-American Woman. This is the very first travel anthology written for, by, and about African-American women travelers. Lee states, "By sharing our stories, it is my hope that we can uplift the sistren. By lighting the way, by creating avenues and setting forth examples, we can help them see more of the options and opportunities available to them on the planet."
