Kathleen E. Woodiwiss was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 3, 1939. Her first novel, The Flame and the Flower, was published in 1972. She wrote 13 historical romance novels during her lifetime including Shanna, A Rose in Winter, Come Love a Stranger, The Reluctant Suitor, and Everlasting. She died from cancer on July 6, 2007 at the age of 68.
