Blackburn, George G. (Author)
George G. Blackburn is a multifaceted writer who also served in the Fourth Field Regiment of the First Canadian Army and was awarded the Military Cross for his duty. He consolidated his experiences into three books: The Guns of Normandy: A Soldier's Eye View, France 1944; The Guns of Victory: A Soldier's Eye View, Belgium, Holland, and Germany, 1944-45, and Where the Hell Are the Guns? A Soldier's Eye View of the Anxious Years, 1939-44.

The Guns of Normandy received the 1996 Edna Staebler Award for Creative Nonfiction.
