A completely new and valuable pseudepigraph, read by many different Christian groups during the first three centuries. It was written in Egypt and its author or original editor was a Hellenistic Jew. Although the Greek original was lost, it had a direct influence on the writers of the New Testament. Was also referred to by Origen and used by the Church father, Irenaeus. Recommended to those interested in apocalyptic literature and the origins of Christianity.
