In philosophy, for example, Black philosophers are writing treatises on Hegel, St. Augustine, and Kant as well as on racial issues. African American folklore, an area neglected by many scholars, is being examined by Black folklorists. Pioneering photographers and artists have made contributions to the visual arts, and Black contributions to the performing arts are becoming more widely noted than ever before.
