More DescriptionDecisions matter and some matter more than most. The Sword of the Llona, Halith makes one that affects not only herself but the entire Kingdom of Radak. She is the defender of the throne and Llona culture, the best and most proficient warrior of her generation Her heart has been given to only two others and now she is determined to focus on her role and not her heart, walling off those feelings that unsettle and destroy the concentration needed to fulfill her duties. A tremendous challenge to her resolve is that the two princes who love her don't entirely understand yet she tries to make them see that there is no other choice. There are Llona who can utilize three physical forms and sometimes four. Born as male or female they can change into the other if they wish. The third form is the androgynous warrior form deadly proficient in battle. A precious few can almost disappear with the fourth form. Despite what others want her to do the Sword will take up her role once more leaving behind both a consort and an old lover. Her pathway is obscure except for the next step and then the next but Halith is determined do more than take that first one. The kingdom now demands her return, rebels have conceived a plan to place another on the throne and she must summon her warrior training to stop it. Her old love, a prince once lost, has been found and threatens the stability of the succession. Her consort, a prince recognized by the spirit keepers of the Forest of Grenock as the heir faces kidnapping, attacks by shape-shifting creatures, unknown Llona enemies and the loss of Halith who he loves and fears she will return to her old lover. Halith focuses on attaining near invincibility, hardening her heart against both old and new loves yearning to be the perfect Sword for her king whom she has known since childhood and his threatened kingdom that he has striven to regain. The long-lived king and his nobles returned from an exile in another world that lasted more than a thousand years. Those left behind had forgotten them. When the exiles returned many Llona were worried that their independence was threatened and so it was since the king reestablished a central government to control the independent lords taking advantage of their neighbors. Halith is a staunch supporter of the ancient Llona values and customs, inevitably she clashes with those who seek a return to a time before the exiles returned and there is bloodshed and terrible loss. Which side suffers more? Which side wins? Discover how the Sword fought for the king and his kingdom by reading Point of a Sword, the first book of the Gates of Doom series.
