Author Biography
Jones, Grace (Author)
Born in 1948 into a family of ministers in Kingston, Jamaica. She left Jamaica as a twelve-year-old in the 1960s. Grace lived with her family in Syracuse, NY, before launching a career as a model in New York City. French designers featured her in their shows. Statuesque and beautiful with an androgynous look, she was a hit on the New York City nightclub circuit, the disco scene, and among gay men. Grace became known as 'Queen of the Gay Discos.' She has been married twice and has a son with Jean-Paul Goude. When Disco faded, she focused on new wave and experimental-based work. Her work has influenced today's stars such as Annie Lennox, Lady Gaga, and Rihanna. She has worked in a number of films including, Conan the Destroyer, A View to a Kill, Vamp, Boomerang, and Wolf Girl. "I'll Never Write My Memoirs" (2015) is her first book.
