Michael Golembesky served as a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. He is a combat veteran of the Afghanistan and Iraq Wars. His first book, Level Zero Heroes: The Story of U. S. Marine Special Operations in Bala Murghab, Afghanistan, written with John R. Bruning was published in 2014.
