As my dad's health was failing, members our family took turns sitting with him around the clock. One day as I began reading him a story from a children's bible he said, 'Pam, guess what? I am surrounded by angels. Jesus is coming for me very soon, isn't that great?' He had always been afraid of death but now he was calm, peaceful and totally confident of entering heaven. His journey towards heaven became very real for all of us. When he was diagnosed with terminal cancer he, being face to face with death, began asking several questions about heaven. Was he going to have to find his way there? Would there be a light to follow? Was God going to show him the way? Death is very frightening to most of us, but my dad went from being afraid of dying to total assurance. We too can have that. God is crazy about us and wants us to be confident of entering eternity.
