The farm was held by the Holcomb family, and operated as the Broad Hill and Newton Farms until 1976, when it passed by gift to the University of Connecticut. Since then the farm has been referred to as the Holcomb Farm. It became Town of Granby property in the early 1990s. Portions are still cultivate in vegetable crops, and portions remain in pasture and woods.
