James, Louis (Author)
Louis James was born in 1933. He received a doctorate for his work in nineteenth-century popular literature from Jesus College, Oxford. He has taught at numerous universities in England, the United States, the Caribbean, and Africa. He has written books on Commonwealth literature and various aspects of nineteenth-century culture focusing mainly on the working class.
