Author Biography
El-Din, Morsi Saad (Author)
Mostafa Abdel Hamid el-Abbadi was born in Cairo, Egypt on October 10, 1928. He received a bachelor's degree with honors from the College of Letters and Arts of the University of Alexandria in 1951 and a doctorate in ancient history from Jesus College, the University of Cambridge in 1960. He became a lecturer at the University of Alexandria. He was the visionary behind the revival of the Great Library of Alexandria. The new library opened in 2002. He wrote several books during his lifetime including Life and Fate of the Ancient Library of Alexandria. He died from heart failure on February 13, 2017 at the age of 88.
