Author Biography
Adelman, Morris A. (Author)
Born in New York, Morris A. Adelman is a renowned energy economist. He earned a B.S. degree from the City College of New York and a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University in 1948.

In 1948, Adelman became affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology as a professor of economics. He was a cofounder of the International Association of Energy Economists (IAEE) and became the organization's third president in 1981. In 1982 he received the IAEE award for outstanding contributions to the profession.

His research publications on the political economy of oil date from 1970 and cover exploration economics, oil import quotas, the OPEC cartel, international oil agreements, world oil prices, and oil supply modeling.
