Despite piecemeal redevelopment, many major cities are struggling to maintain functional efficiency while sustaining acceptable levels of quality of life. A notable opportunity for successful redevelopment has emerged in rehabilitation of urban waterfront areas, and the present volume examines recreation and tourism as a catalyst for such waterfront redevelopment.
